As Hale’s Director of Family & Community Programs, I run a busy family summer program, manage facility rentals (everything from campouts to weddings), oversee all year-round public programs (including family, adult, and arts programs), and supervise seasonal waterfront staff.

Seasonal employment! Hale hires about 200 seasonal employees every summer as lifeguards, swimming and boating instructors, and activity specialists. These roles require problem-solving, empathy, teamwork, creativity, strategic planning, and communication skills. We also hire a leadership team tasked with providing management, feedback, and mentorship.
