  • Job and Daily Responsibilities:

For my business clients, I process payroll and prepare the monthly bookkeeping. This includes the analysis of financial statements specifically looking for trends and ways to improve profitability. I also assist both personal and business clients with estimated tax payments, year-end tax planning, and the preparation of tax returns.

Education

High School: Westwood High School (Class of 2000)
College: Bentley University (Bachelor of Science in Accounting, 2003)
Post-Graduate: Northeastern University (Master of Science in Taxation, 2007)

Pre-Employment Experience

During my college years, I worked as a bookkeeper for a small company.  Upon graduation, I worked in both the audit and tax departments for several accounting firms.  The opportunity to work in both audit and tax has helped to make me be a more well-rounded accountant.

List of classes that are most important/applicable to succeed in your profession:

Accounting and finance courses; if not immediately available, any type of business course will provide a great foundation.  Math courses are also beneficial.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for my mentors. I am available to answer any questions and provide any guidance needed. I can be shadowed for a day and also provide summer internship opportunities.

Advice From A Leader

Never be scared to ask questions or to try new things. I have been in the accounting industry for 20 years and still ask questions all the time. What helped me most is getting hands on experience while in college, therefore my biggest advice is to get as much experience as possible as this will help you to advance in the profession.
