The art of making smiles and improving bites requires a foundation of creative thought based in science and biomechanics. It is a high energy fast paced profession that utilizes critical skill thinking and has a rewarding social aspect. Given the timeline to complete orthodontics, you create strong and long lasting relationships that impact the patient in extraordinary ways. We use our hands and mind to problem solve and create life changing improvements to those we serve. We are constantly treatment planning, presenting cases, using our hands to bend wires, placing and remove brackets, training and coaching patients to support their process and enhance their progress by complying with best behaviors for success.

To get into dental school one does not need to graduate from college, but must have one semester of calculus, four semesters of biology with labs, two semesters of chemistry with labs, two semesters of organic chemistry with labs, two semesters of physics with labs, and a minimum of two years college credits completed. It helps to have an artistic mind as well

Advice From A Leader

Dentistry is highly competitive. Having a role within any dental practice environment will help support the application and acceptance process. Research is also a solid foundation experience that is very desirable by admissions departments. Scoring high on standardized tests and a high GPA are essential, especially if you’d like to pursue a specialty in dentistry such as orthodontics and the like. For one interested in support staff role, again early introduction and experience is beneficial.
